Benjamin Solomon Carson a.k.a Ben Carson

I picked Ben Carson because he is a very intelligent individual who would bring Christian values back into the White House. Carson is a perfect representation of a strong leader who has a deep love for America and its people.
" The Roman Empire was very, very much like us. They lost their moral core, their sense of values in terms of who they were. And after all of those things converged together, they just went right down the tubes very quickly."

Ben Carson's Work Experience

Ben Carson didn't have it easy growing up, in fact growing up in a single parent household in Detroit with bad grades, and a horrible temper, the statistics were certainty not in his favor.
"It doesn't matter if you come from the inner city. People who fail in life are people who find lots of excuses. It's never too late for a person to recognize they have potential in themselves."
Ben Carson isn't one to find excuses for why things don't go the way he would like, instead he is an incredibly hard worker. After Carson graduated from Yale University, where he majored in psychology, he went on to work as an x-ray technician, a bank teller, a school bus driver, a supervisor for highway cleanup crews, and a crane operator in a steel factory before being accepted into the University of Michigan School of Medicine. After graduating grad school with his M.D he and Candy, his newly wedded wife, moved to Baltimore where Carson performed his residency training at the John Hopkins Medical Center. Carson went on to direct pediatric neurosurgery at the John Hopkins Children's Center for 29 years.

Ben Carson's Family Life

Ben Carson is the son of Robert Solomon Carson and Sonya Carson. His parents got divorced when he was only eight years old, and his mother was left to raise Carson and his brothers. Carson married Candy Carson and they had 3 sons, Rhoeye, Murray, and B.J.
"Well, I say that the most important job you can possibly have is raising a child, and it needs to be treated that way. You have to show them, rather than just talk to them."

Ben Carson on Education

"Education is the fundamental principle of what makes America a success. It is the foundation of what truly makes our country "The Land of Opportunity."
Carson is ready to put a stop to the US Department of Education dictating how children are educated in primary and secondary schools, and Common Core. He wants to make it to where our education system is run by involved parents and engaged teachers and principals. This would a step in the right direction!

Carson is a strong believer in the power of education, and he is alarmed by the studies showing that American students are falling behind the rest of the world. Carson founded the Carson Scholars Fund in 1994, which has awarded more than 7500 scholars and operates in all 50 states. This program has also established over 130 reading rooms across the US to encourage young students and their family to discover the pleasure of reading and to recognize the true power of learning.

Ben Carson on Healthcare

"Obamacare is a looming disaster."
Carson believes we need re-establish a strong and direct relationship between patients and their physicians. He strongly supports Health Saving Accounts which empower families to make their own decisions about their medical treatment. Health Saving Accounts will lower the cost of health care while protecting patient choice and freedom.
"More freedom and less government in our health care system will mean lower costs, more access, and continued innovation."
